Bus plunge kills 3, injures 40

Three people were killed and about 40 others injured when a bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Mirkandapara at Sadar upazila in Mymensingh district on Saturday. The identity of the deceased persons could not be known immediately. Shawkat Hossain, sub-inspector of Kotwali Model Police Station, said the accident took place at about 11 am when a Pirganj-bound bus from Madanpur shrine in Netrakona plunged into a roadside ditch, leaving two people dead on the spot and injuring 42 others. Another unidentified person died on way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital while 17 critically injured were admitted to the hospital, according to a news agency.
