Bus runs over two blind persons in city

Two blind persons were killed when hit by a BRTC bus on Dhaka's Airport Road on early Thursday. Mohammed Kamaluddin, officer in charge of airport police station said both died at the Kurmitola General Hospital after they were admitted there on the morning. The woman was around 38, the man around 40. Police has not yet been able to identify them. Kamaluddin said the two were hit by the BRTC bus near the VIP gate in the airport. They were admitted to the Kurmitola General Hospital where they both died in the morning. "We have asked the Society for the Visually Impaired to come and identify them. A blind person was killed in a similar accident before and had been identified by them. Hope they can identify these two as well," said Kamaluddin. The driver of the Gazipur-Gulistan BTRC bus has been detained. The bus has been seized by the police. The bodies have been kept at the Dhaka Medical College & Hospital, according to a news agency.
