Bus set ablaze after it crushed boy in city

A group of unruly people set a bus ablaze after a minor boy was crushed under its wheels at Mirpur Road in the city’s Dhanmondi area on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Fahim, 10. Officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi police station Nur-e-Azam Miah said a bus knocked down Fahim and ran over him when he and his mother were getting down from another bus in front of Anwer Khan Medical College Hospital near Science Laboratory around 1:45pm. Infuriated by the accident, a mob detained the bus and set fire to it. The bus was heading towards Azimpur from Gazipur. Being informed, two units of firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame. Sub-Inspector Mehedi of Dhanmondi police station said the bus driver has been arrested, according to a news agency.
