Bus torched in city

A bus was torched in city's Dhanmondi area Thursday when it hit two rickshaws, leaving four people injured, reports UNB.
Police said the incident took place near Bangladesh Eye Hospital at Dhanmondi Road no-27 intersection at about 11:30 am when a passenger bus of Malancha paribahan hit two rickshaws.
Rickshaw-pullers-Nigba (35) and Kaiyum (40) -- and two passengers of the rickshaws-Rezaul Karim and an unidentified woman-were injured in the mishap.
Angry pedestrians set the bus afire and detained the bus driver Mukhlesur Rahman (24). They handed him over to Dhanmondi Police Station after giving him a sound beating.
The flame was doused before a fire fighting unit reached the spot.
