Bus torched in city on BNP shutdown eve

Suspected pro-strikers have set ablaze a bus in city and exploded an improvised bomb in the lead-up to the daylong shutdown Monday across Bangladesh. bdnews24.com's Chief Political Correspondent Sumon Mahmud saw the bus on fire on Sunday evening at Paltan intersection. Shahbagh police Inspector Habil Hossain blamed 'miscreants' for the incident. Paltan police OC Morshed Alam said a handmade bomb went off near the BNP's Naya Paltan headquarters in the afternoon, according to a news agency.
