Bus-truck collision leaves 2 dead

At least two people were killed and several others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck at Magura Sadar Upazila on Wednesday morning. One of the dead was identified as Jewel Rana, 35, a resident of Chuadanga district. Police and hospital sources said a Dhaka-bound bus from Chuadanga collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction on Magura-Jhenidah Highway at Chhoto Bridge near Ishakhada Bazar around 08:30am and later, the two vehicles plunged into a ditch beside the highway, killing two bus passengers, including Juwel, on the spot and injuring 10 others. The injured were taken to Sadar Hospital where one of them died, according to a news agency.
