Bus, truck workers go on strike in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, Mar 20 (UNB): Bus-Truck workers union went on a 5-day strike in the district Sunday morning protesting the filing of a false case against two leaders of truck workers' union. Transport movement on various roads including Satkhira-Khulna highway and Satkhira-Jessore highway came to a halt following the strike. Satkhira bus-minibus owners' association president Saiful Karim Sabu said former general secretary of district truck workers' union Abul Kalam Azad, a charge sheeted accused of a murder case, filed an extortion case against Itagachha truck workers' union general secretary Abdul Aziz Babu and vice-president Azizul Huq with chief judicial magistrate court on March 5.
