Buses flagged off on two BD-India routes

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and Paschimbanga Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee jointly inaugurated the Dhaka-Shillong-Guwahati and Dhaka-Agartala-Kolkata bus services at the Prime Minister's Office in the city on Saturday, reports UNB.
They flagged off three buses to Kolkata, Agartala and Shillong at around 3:45pm.
Hasina, Modi and Mamata boarded three buses and exchanged pleasantries with passengers before the vehicles were flagged off.
Mamata handed over a Kalkata-Dhaka symbolic bus ticket to Sheikh Hasina while Modi handed over a Agartala-Dhaka bus ticket to the Bangladesh Prime Minister before launching the Bangladesh-India busĀ service.
Besides, Sheikh Hasina handed over a Dhaka-Shillong symbolic bus ticket to Narendra Modi.
On inauguration of the services, the Indian PMO tweeted, "Increasing people-to-people contact and connecting the two nations...flagging off the bus services."
