LIMA, Nov 22 (AFP): US President George W. Bush and Chinese President Hu Jintao Friday discussed the global economic crisis and six-country talks to shutter North Korea's nuclear programmes, the White House said.
As they opened their final meeting before Bush steps down on January 20, the US president allowed he was "a little nostalgic" about his ebbing time in office, spokeswoman Dana Perino said in a statement.
Bush also "said he felt very comfortable in their personal relationship and that he believes the relationship between our two countries is on solid ground," as Barack Obama prepares for the White House, said Perino.
The US president had gone into the closed-door meeting eager to get China, which hosts the six-country talks, to call a new round in early December to cement a blueprint for verifying North Korea's nuclear disarmament.
