Business delegation leaves city with PM's entourage

A high-powered business delegation on Thursday morning left here for the United Kingdom en route to New York as an entourage of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is scheduled to attend the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) there.
President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Md Jashim Uddin led the business delegation.
Along with the PM, the business delegation will also visit the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland before heading for the USA.
FBCCI Senior Vice-President Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu will act as the president of the apex trade body during this period.
The delegation is scheduled to hold a meeting with the US-Bangladesh Business Council of US Chamber of Commerce where PM Sheikh Hasina is expected to be present.
Besides, there will be several seminars and business-to-business (B2B) meetings between the businessmen of Bangladesh and USA that aim to enhance bilateral trade and investment for mutual benefits of the two countries.
The business delegation will also attend a trade fair in New York on the occasion of Bangladeshi Immigrant Day.
Former president of FBCCI Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, MP, and present vice-president MA Noman are among the delegation members.
