Business opportunities in Bangladesh
Friday, 4 December 2009
My name is Shadman Karim and I am currently residing in the United States of America (USA). I have been inspired by Syed Mohammod Mostofa Shams's article titled Entrepreneurship Development in Bangladesh to contact you.
I am part of a competition called DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) and was wondering if anybody could help me. I am competing in the International Business Plan Event where I have to create a business in a foreign country from scratch and show how successful I can become with this business. Last year I did the same event and chose to sell water purification tablets in Bangladesh for a very affordable prices and ended up winning second in the Top 20% at the international competition held in Anaheim, California.
The help I am looking for is some advice as to how Bangladesh is doing now. After reading the article I have seen again what a great opportunity it would be to set up a business there but just can't seem to find a need that the people of the country really need. I can't sell the same product that I did last year but I forced my way through the competition so they would allow me to set up a corporation in Bangladesh again.
If anybody can help me with any information especially regarding what kind of products Bangladesh would best benefit from, will remain grateful.
I am a 17 year old Bangladeshi American in the 12th grade. My father is the President of the Bangladesh Association of Connecticut and has been living here for 26 years now. We visit Bangladesh every other year. That is some background information if needed!
