Businessman electrocuted

A businessman died from electrocution at Kachari under Nokla upazila in Sherpur district on Friday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Ashraful Alam, 48, owner of ‘Al Amin Garment’ at Nakla Bazar and son of Samiruddin Haji in Ishobpur Kamarpotti of Nokla town. Locals said Ashraful received electric shock as he came in contact with a live electric wire when he went to the rooftop of a mosque to block onrush of rain water around 5:00pm. He died on the spot. Officer-in-charge of Nokla Police Station Golam Haidar confirmed the incident, according to UNB.
