Businessman stabbed dead by muggers

A local businessman was stabbed to death by some muggers in Burichang upazila in Comilla district on Sunday night. The dead is Masud Rana, 35, son of late Shahadat Ali, a resident of Korpai village in the upazila. Police said Masud was returning home from Comilla town by a motorcycle at about 9:45pm. Some muggers intercepted him in Sayedpur area and tried to snatch his valuables. At one stage, the muggers stabbed Masud indiscriminately as he tried to resist them, leaving him dead on the spot. Local people caught one of the muggers after a hot chase and later handed him over to police, according to UNB.
