Businessman stabbed to death in Jessore

Our CorrespondentbrJESSORE, Aug 31 Muggers stabbed a businessman near the office of Superintendent of Police (SP) in Jessore town early Saturday.brThe deceased was identified as Akhil Kumar Banik (45) of Missionpara area in the town.brThe police and local people said a group of muggers stopped the rickshaw in which the businessman was coming toward his residence at Missionpara. He came from Dhaka by a night coach. brThey tried to snatch his belongings, but he tried to resist them. The muggers then stabbed him indiscriminately.brHe died on way to hospital at around 430 am Saturday. brHis post mortem examination was made at Jessore General Hospital. A case was filed with Jessore Kotwali police station in this regard. None was arrested in this connection.
