BWIT, UCEP celebrate ICT Day for girls

Bangladesh Women in Technology (BWIT) and UCEP celebrated Girls in ICT Day Thursday in Bangladesh.
The event was held at UCEP Mirpur Technical School, with the participation of girl students, IT journalists, IT entrepreneurs and IT professionals. The Keynote paper titled 'Underprivileged Girls in ICT' was presented by UCEP Executive Director Zaki Hasan.  
BWIT President and UCEP Board of Governors Member Luna Shamsuddoha said, "This is the second time we are celebrating the ICT Day for Girls. It has created excitement and expectation among the girls and women. It is becoming an event of high impact."
UCEP has around 48,000 children and about half of them are girls from marginalised communities in eight districts of Bangladesh through its 53 general schools and 10 technical schools to "End Child Labour, Ensure Education and Employability!"
