'By-poll result to influence future national politics': JANIPOP

Some two teams of Jatiya Nirbachan Parjobekkhon Parishad (JANIPOP), an election watch dog, led by Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah have observed different polling centres of Lalmohon and Tajumuddin upazilas of the Bhola-3 by-election held Saturday on a mobile basis, says a JANIPOP release.
The JANIPOP teams observed that apart from the presiding officer two polling officers and one assistant presiding officer were seen in each centre. Law enforcing agencies were deployed in the entire area. A large number of voters from every class of the society came to cast their votes.
The council said that impact of pre-election situation was reflected on the Election Day. Clashes between supporters of two contesting candidates in different places in the electoral area were evident.
