CA leaves for NY to attend UNGA

Chief Adviser (CA) Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed Saturday night left for New York (NY) via Dubai to attend the 63rd United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at the UN Headquarters there, reports UNB.
He will make country statement in the UNGA session on September 26. This will be his second participation in the UNGA as the head of the caretaker government after his assumption of office on January 12, 2007.
CA's wife, Neena Ahmed, is accompanying him on the trip. The other members of the delegation include Foreign Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury and CA's Press Secretary Syed Fahim Munaim.
A flight of Emirates Airlines carrying the CA and his entourage took off from Zia International Airport at around 9:45pm.
Home Adviser MA Matin, LGRD Adviser Anwarul Iqbal, US Ambassador James F Moriarty, Dean of diplomatic corps, chiefs of three services of the armed forces and senior civil and military officials saw off the CA at the VVIP tarmac of the airport.
The Chief Adviser will have bilateral meetings with some heads of government and state as well as high dignitaries on the sidelines of the UNGA apart from meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
