CA leaves for NY to attend UNGA session

Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed left for New York Saturday night to attend the 62nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in the UN headquarters. A VVIP flight of the Emirates Airlines, carrying the Chief Adviser and his entourage, took off from the Zia International Airport at 9.48pm. Law Adviser Mainul Hosein, Communication Adviser MA Matin, chiefs of the three services and other civil and military high officials saw the Chief Adviser off at the VVIP tarmac of the airport. It will be the Chief Adviser's first trip to the USA after he assumed office of the Chief Adviser on January 12 this year. He would inform the world leaders about his government's objectives and performance to reach the goal. He would address the UN General Assembly on September 27. Chief Adviser's wife Neena Ahmed, Foreign Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, Chief Adviser's Principal Secretary Ali Imam Majumder and Press Secretary Syed Fahim Munaim are also accompanying the CA. He is scheduled to return home on September 30. —UNB
