CA meets Abu Sayed's brothers
FE REPORT | Thursday, 7 November 2024
Two brothers of Abu Sayed, the martyred protester in this year's July-August mass movement, met Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna in the capital on Wednesday.
Syed's brothers said Professor Yunus speaking about the sacrifice of the youth and all other martyrs in his historic speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September brought tears to their eyes. They greeted the CA with good wishes and said that their parents wished him the same.
The two brothers stood on the podium with the CA when the President Guard Regiment (PGR) extended a guard of honour as part of the visit.
They sought justice and exemplary punishment to the persons, who were responsible for the killing of their brother.
Syed's brothers informed the CA that they would set up a foundation named after their slain brother. They also said they want to build a model mosque and a medical college in their village in his memory, mentioning that they made an appeal to two ministries for providing support in this regard.
Professor Yunus assured all possible support for the family of Abu Sayed. He said the interim government ordered police to expedite the investigation into his murder and ensure justice.
