Cabinet body approves 10 projects

The cabinet purchase committee Thursday approved 10 projects, including a Tk 4.3 billion (430 crore) bid for importing 0.2 million tonnes of urea fertiliser from China under a contract to cater for a high demand in the upcoming grand farming season, reports UNB.
Officials said the cabinet body gave the approval at a meeting at the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat with Finance Minister AMA Muhith in the chair.
Among the approved projects is also one of Tk 590-million for procurement of spare parts and services for the overhauling works of the unit-1 of Chittagong Thermal Power Station on turnkey basis.
