Cabinet clears VAT and Supplementary Duty (Amendment) Act

The Cabinet on Monday approved the Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty (Amendment) Act. A Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, gave the final nod to the amended Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty Act, 2012, paving the way for the parliament to pass the amendment to the act. Besides, the Cabinet meeting also cleared the proposed Court Fees (amendment) Act, 2015. Cabinet Secretary Muhammad Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan will later brief the media about the two amended acts that got the Cabinet clearance today. The meeting was held in the Cabinet room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
