Cabinet okays budget proposal

The Cabinet has endorsed the national budget proposal for the 2014-2015 fiscal year. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting that cleared the proposal at the Cabinet Division on Thursday, hours before Finance Minister AMA Muhith entered the House to present the Tk 2.5 trillion annual budget. The proposed budges is the first one of the incumbent Awami League-led government after it returned to power in January this year. It will have a Tk 674.98 billion deficit and a Tk 1.84 trillion revenue target, according to a news agency.
