Cabinet okays wheat purchase from Russia
Approves eight projects valued at Tk 4.29b

A cabinet body approved on Wednesday eight projects involving Tk 4.29 billion that include import of wheat from Russia.
The cabinet committee on economic affairs also endorsed two projects that are: import of phosphetic fertiliser under the government to government (G2G) arrangement from Tunisia, Morocco and Saudi Arabia for the fiscal year (FY) 2017-18 and reconstruction/rebuilding work of damaged roads in Rangamati destroyed by landslides of hill in the district recently.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith presided over both the meetings at the cabinet division.
The projects the cabinet committee on public purchase approved are: imports of 0.2 million tonnes of wheat involving the cost of over Tk 4.18 billion.
A tonne of wheat price has been fixed at US$ 252.
The wheat will be imported under the government to government (G2G) arrangement and relocation of 95 megawatts (MWs) gas-based power plant from Ashuganj to Bhola by M/S Aggreko International Projects Ltd. The government will purchase electricity at Tk 3.062 per kilowatt hour.
Procurement of API class 'G' cement, cement additives and cementation services with equipment (rental) and cementation back-up services for Salda (North-1) (Rupkalpa-1) exploration well drilling at a cost of over Tk 23 million and for Kashba -1 (Rupkalpa-3) exploration well drilling at a cost of over Tk 20 million respectively, purchase of mud and completion fluid chemicals for exploration well drilling of Kashba -1 (Rupkalpa-3) at a cost of over Tk 32 million, purchase of drill bit of different size for Kashba-1 (Rupkalpa-3), and Salda (North-1) for exploration wells at a cost of over Tk 16 million and purchase of surface testing service for Kashba-1 (Rupkalpa-3) and Salda (North-1) at a cost of over Tk 24 million.
