Cabinet orders formation of body to expedite recruitment
Monday, 21 April 2014
The cabinet on Monday directed the authorities concerned to constitute a committee headed by the cabinet secretary to develop a mechanism to expedite the process of recruitment to government organisations and create new posts for infusing dynamism in the public administration. The directives were given at the regular weekly meeting of the cabinet held at the Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair. The other members of the committee would be the secretaries of Finance and Public Administration Ministries and that of the Prime Minister's Office. The committee could co-opt other secretaries, if needed. After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan briefed reporters. He said the cabinet has asked the authorities concerned to expedite its January 20 directive to prepare ministry-wise time-bound action plans in line with its election manifesto as well as previous experiences of the government. The cabinet also asked the cabinet division to expedite the work on reviewing of over 550 ordinances promulgated during the two military governments and repealed by the higher court later, according to UNB.
