Call for making Islami Bank a model one

Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) M Fariduddin Ahmad has urged the officials of the bank to work together to promote the bank as a model one.
He was delivering his inaugural speech at a 'Business Promotion Meeting' organised by the bank at the Institute of Diploma Engineers in the city Tuesday, said a press release.
Among others, deputy managing directors (DMDs) of the bank Mohd Shamsul Haque, Mohammad Abdul Mannan and Md Habibur Rahman addressed the meeting. Other executives and staff of bank's head office also attended the meeting.
Mr Fariduddin in his speech as the chief guest upheld the achievement of the bank and viewed that customer service should be improved to sustain the success achieved so far. He called upon the officials to receive the best training in the light of globalisation to serve the bank's purpose.
He urged the officials of the bank to bring the facilities of deposit schemes of the bank to the doors of the people. He said the people of the country should be made aware of the positive aspects of the bank. He specifically laid emphasis on Mudaraba Waqf cash deposit account, Mudaraba Muhr savings account and Mudaraba Hajj savings account.
Mentioning multi-dimensional investment of the bank, he expressed his opinion that investment facilities should be disseminated keeping the sector, size, purpose, geographical areas and security of the investment into consideration.
Terming Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited a bank of Shari'ah complier, he said, "We are committed to implement the Shari'ah in all sectors of banking transactions."
He laid stress on recovering overdue and classified investments.
