FE Report
The inter-bank call money rate remained steady Tuesday, as the central bank injected fresh cash into the market. The US dollar also maintained stable nerve against Bangladesh taka (BDT) in an active inter-bank foreign exchange market, fund managers said.
The call rate in extreme range fluctuated between 8.00 per cent and 20.00 per cent coinciding with previous day's range.
In most deals, the rate, however, fluctuated between 19.00 per cent and 20.00 per cent against previous day's range of between 15.00 per cent and 20.00 per cent reflecting increased pressure on liquidity.
Most banks and financial institutions were busy in borrowing cash from the interbank market at high rates to meet urgent requirements of the clients, they said.
