Call to accelerate BSCIC action for employment generation

RAJSHAHI, Nov 5 (BSS): Chairman of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Mohbubur Rahman has asked the concerned officials and employees to accelerate BSCIC activities for creating employment opportunities.
He made the call while addressing a review meeting at the BSCIC regional office here Sunday evening and said the rural economy largely depends on small and cottage industries.
In this context, he said due attention should be given to make the rural economy more dynamic for reducing the pressure on urban areas.
Referring to enormous prospects of making the rural industries profitable and sustainable through utilising natural resources, he said "You have to work with utmost sincerity and honesty to reach the modern industrial and commercial knowledge to the doorstep of the entrepreneurs.
Regional Director Khaza Nazim Uddin illustrated the local BSCIC activities in his address of welcome.
Earlier, he also held a view sharing meeting with the local entrepreneurs to devise ways of how to make the industrial units economically viable.
BSCIC Chairman urged the entrepreneurs to come forward to establishing more industries potential in the region after taking advantage of the government initiatives in this connection.
