Call to bring all children under pre-primary education

GAIBANDHA, June 30 (BSS): Speakers at a function stressed the need for bringing all the children aged 5 plus under pre-primary education programme to flourish their growth and development properly.
"Pre-primary education will play vital role undoubtedly to make the children school oriented and also help them accustom with new academic environment to complete their primary education successfully", they said.
They made the observations while addressing a day-long orientation programme on pre-primary education organised by District Primary Education Office at the conference room of deputy commissioner (DC) recently.
Deputy Commissioner M. Abdus Samad attended the function and addressed it as the chief guest and additional deputy commissioner (General) Abu Bakar Siddique was present as the special guest while district primary education officer (DPEO) AKM Amirul Islam presided over.
Pre-primary education would also help immensely increase the admission and attendance rate of the students in all schools side by side with reducing the rate of drop out and repeat, they said.
DC M. Abdus Samad said pre-primary education can help the children significantly adapt to the new academic environment and make the primary education programme grand success.
DPEO AKM Amirul Islam in his concluding speech sought whole hearted cooperation of all to create much awareness among the people about pre-primary education programme which has been made compulsory from 2011.
District and upazila level education officials including PTI super, monitoring officers, NGO representatives participated in the programme.
