The speakers made a plea to keep the Department of Labour free from all types of influences of government and owners to ensure the rights to trade union.
Addressing the programme, BGWUC leaders also urged the government to amend the Labour Law of 2006, keep Labour Office out of influence of the government and owners, implement six-month maternity leave for the RMG workers, ensure delivery of appointment letters, identity cards, wage slips and over-time slips to the workers and measures for ensuring housing facilities for them.
