Call to preserve memories of late Suchitra Sen

PABNA, Aug 13: Speakers at a discussion meet Tuesday stressed on preserving the memories of Suchitra Sen, the late legendary actress of Bangla film who originally shailed from Pabna, at her ancestral home. Suchitra Sen Smrity Shangrakhhan Parishad, Pabna, organised the discussion meeting after freeing the house from the occupiers.
After a long legal battle, the ancestral house of acting legend Suchitra Sen was freed on July 16, fulfilling the demand of socio-cultural enthusiasts and organisations. Pabna district administration took the charge of the house from the pro-Jamaat educational institution Imam Gazzali Institution.
"Not only the freeing of the house it is now essential to preserve it for the sake of keeping the memories of the legendary film actress," said M. Saidul Haque Chunnu, president of the organization also the administrator of Pabna Zila Parishad.
Chunnu chaired the meeting while the chairman of Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB) Advocate Monjil Morshed spoke as the chief guest.
