Call to protect indigenous heritage

RAJSHAHI, Dec 21 (BSS): Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton today called for proper preservation of the indigenous dance culture through substantial and sustainable nurturing and enriching the cultural heritage. He asked the cultural activists to take the responsibility of safeguarding the rich Bengali culture including dance and choreography which have been reflecting real feeling of the people and helping to build a peaceful and prosperous nation. He was addressing the inaugural session of a weeklong dance workshop organized by Utpatty Nityashram at General Public Library compound here as the chief guest. Founder President of the institution Sonia Paul in the chair, dance artists Tarit Sarker and Minati Biswash and General Secretary of the institution Saiful Islam Sagar also spoke on the occasion.
