Call to protect rights of outbound workers

Experts and activists urged the government to take steps to ensure safety of outbound workers and protect their rights.
They came up with the plea on Sunday at a programme styled 'Obhibashon o Sonar Manush Sommilon 2019, organised by Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU).
Planning Minister Abdul Mannan attended the programme as the chief guest.
RMMRU founding chair Tasneem Siddiqui, Coordinator CR Abrar, development expert Dr Atiq Rahman, acclaimed poet, researcher, folklorist and writer Dr. Ashraf Siddiqui were present and also spoke.
Addressing the event, Mannan said the government is very alert about the security of female workers working abroad as many of them were victims of abuse and tortures.
