Call to settle workers

CHITTAGONG, June 03: It is better to settle any problem concerning demands of the workers through discussion and on the basis of understandings between conflicting parties instead of resorting to destructive activities like rampaging and ransacking.

This was observed by the Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, Farid Ahmad in his address as chief guest in a workshop on "labour law of the workers of Chittagong based sweater factories" arranged by the Industrial Relations Institutes (IRI) at Nasirabad area in the city on Saturday with IRI lecturer Md Giasuddin in the chair.

Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) first vice president M A Salam , Assistant director of the Directorate of Labour Arun Kanti Das and BGMEA director Mohiuddin Chowdhury attended the workshop as special guests.
