Call to take stern action against acid-throwers

Speakers at a view exchange meeting today called upon all to extend their help to the concerned organisation for ensuring legal action against the acid-throwers. They said acid attack is one of the most heinous crimes against women. They urged all to come forward to help the acid survivours and stop acid attacks on women in the society. Acid Survivours Foundation and Joypurhat District Acid Control Committee jointly organised the meeting for acid buyers, sellers and users. Presided over by Additional District Magistrate Khorshed Alam, the meeting was held in the conference room of Joypurhat Deputy Commissioner's office. District women welfare officer Sabina Sultana, district representative of BRAC Aktarul Islam, Apurba Sirker, secretary of district NGO Forum, Kalai Degree collage principal Nizam Uddin, ADP Manager of World Vision Gregori Shitol Terera and Acid victims Joly Akter, Tuli and Jahirul Islam were present, among others. according to a news agency.
