Call to withdraw advance income tax on bidi

Bangladesh Bidi Sramik Federation held a discussion on the proposed budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year at the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Sunday, says a press release.
The leaders of the federation hailed the proposed budget and thanked the prime minister for not increasing tariffs on bidi.
Bidi workers also placed a four-point demand, including withdrawal of 10 per cent advance income tax on bidi.
Secretary of Bangladesh Bidi Sramik Federation Harik Hossain read out a written statement at the discussion. Bangladesh Bidi Sramik Federation President Amin Uddin, Vice presidents Nazim Uddin and Anawor Hossain, Jonit Secretaries Abdul Gafur and Abul Hasnat Lavlu and Organising Secretary Shamim Islam also spoke.
