Rally against Eve-teasing at East West University
East West University "Bondhu Shabha" organised a rally for raising awareness against eve-teasing in Bangladesh.
The rally was inaugurated by Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin,President, Board of Trustees of EWU. In his speech, he stresed that eve-teasing is a social problem, and this is the right time to take action against that. He urged the government to take time-befitting action and give exemplary punishment to the perpetrators. Professor Dr. Muniruddin Ahmed, acting-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, BBA-Chairperson, Dr. Sufia Islam, Chairperson, Department of Pharmacy, other faculty members and students attended this rally.
After this rally, an event was also organised in the aditorium to celebrate 12th anniversary of the Daily Prothom Alo.
BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at East West University gets BAETE accreditation
The BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) programme at East West University has recently been granted accreditation from the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), an independent body formed under the umbrella of the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
BAETE is the premier authority in Bangladesh for accreditation of all engineering programmes. This accreditation is a testimonyof the high quality of education imparted to the students of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at East West University.
As a consequence of this accreditation, graduates of the BSC programme in EEE will be able to become members of IEB without requiring any qualification test. All students and faculty members of the EEE department were congratulated on this occasion.
