Can Kaizen be applied in Bangladesh?

Kaizen was fashioned in Japan after World War II. The word Kaizen means continuous improvement. It derives from the Japanese words 'kai' which means 'change' or 'to correct' and 'Zen' which means 'good', meaning changing for better.
The groundwork of kaizen method consists of five founding elements-teamwork, personal discipline, improved morale, quality circles and suggestions for improvement. Some of the key intentions of the Kaizen philosophy include- the abolition of waste, quality maintenance, just-in-time conveyance, standardized work and use of efficient apparatus. Kaizen encompasses every member of staff and boosts propositions for enhancements, even if they are trivial as long as improvements occur.  Suggestions coming from all levels of the workplace, from the assembly line to the CEO's office, are scrutinized and executed if beneficial.
Introduction of Kaizen can be supportive to fetch in exterior experts. They can work in facility identifying problems that those close to the work may not be able to see. This serves as a 'seed' allowing the employees to see how Kaizen works and to experience the benefits of Kaizen. Employees are informed about what happens with their suggestions. Hence Kaizen approach makes appropriate and accurate the practice of skills of workforces to further strengthen the competitiveness. It can contribute towards the progression of business, the working culture and measure all possible metrics to attain the best market result.
