Canada-USA textile industry to invest $12m in Ctg EPZ

A joint venture company of Canada and USA named M/s. Aadi Towels (BD) Ltd. is going to set up a textile industry in the Chittagong Export Processing Zone.
The 100 per cent foreign owned company will invest US$ 12 million and will annually produce 8.5 million kgs. of home and institutional textiles like wash cloths, kitchen and surgical towel, appron etc.
The company will create employment opportunity for 1521 locals and nine foreign nationals.
An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and the M/s. Aadi Towels (BD) Limited in the city Wednesday.
Member (investment Promotion) of BEPZA Prasanta Bhushan Barua and General Manager of M/s. Aadi Towels (BD) Ltd Md Shahabuddin signed the lease agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Among others, BEPZA Executive Chairman Brig General Ashraf Abdullah Yussuf, General Manager (investment promotion) AKM Mahbubur Rahman were also present at the signing ceremony, among others.
