Cancer treatment hampered at RMCH
Friday, 21 February 2025
The only radiotherapy machine for cancer patients at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) has been out of order for a long time, leaving impoverished patients to suffer immensely. The Cobalt machine, installed at the hospital in 1997, broke down in 2009 and has remained non-operational ever since.
The question arises: why has such a critical medical service been neglected for years? When billions of taka is allocated to various public and private sector projects, why is it not possible to install a new Cobalt machine to save lives?
Negligence in healthcare is unacceptable. Immediate steps must be taken to install a new Cobalt machine at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
