Chittagong Stock Exchange in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission organized a two day training programme for the new entrants of the Authorized Representatives of CSE brokerage houses in Chittagong Saturday.
Inaugurating the training session, Mr. Muhammad Yasin Ali, Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said :SEC has framed a new guideline and agreement for the Authorized Representatives which sets strict condition like honesty and integrity in the operation of the brokerage houses.
Talking on on recent market surge, he said: The number of BO accounts are increasing day by day. So this is a great challenge for all of us to retain investors' confidence by discharging our responsibilities effectively. Officials of every brokerage houses should ensure proper implementation of compliance issues so that market remains disciplined.
Professor Dr. M A Mamun, Chief Executive officer of CSE while saying his welcome address said "Chittagong Stock Exchange from the beginning has been organizing different kinds of training programme for the stake holders in order to ensure better quality service to the investors. CSE was the pioneer to aware of necessity for establishing a Professional Training Institute in the country which is going to start its operation soon.
He urged SEC to open a platform of Securities Institute in Chittagong . He requested all the training participants to gather knowledge efficiently from the training resources so that training objective is fulfilled. He said with dissatisfaction that market is still rumor based and speculative. Market Fundamentals has to be prioritized by the investors before taking any investment decision, otherwise investors will be suffered, he added.
During two day training programme, SEC EDs Md. Anowarul Islam and A.T. M. Tariquzzaman, directors M. Hasan Mahmud, Md. Ashraful Islam, Md. Ashraful Islam, Mohammad Shafiul Azam, Mohammad Shafiul Azam and Mahbuber Rahman Chowdhury spoke on different aspects of the securities market operation.
