Car hijacked, driver killed in Rajbari

RAJBARI, Jan 7 (UNB): A gang of muggers hijacked a private car after killing its driver at Durgapur in Pangsha upazila Friday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Rashedul, 30, son of Abdul Hakim of Bhabankatha village in Birganj upazila of Dinajpur district and resident of Ashulia in Savar.
Locals said armed miscreants intercepted the private car in the area on Rajbari-Kushtia highway at dead of night and hijacked the car after strangulating the driver to death.
Police on information rushed to the spot early Saturday morning and sent the body to hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was filed.
