Car stolen from Ctg recovered at Daudkandi

Our Correspondent CHITTAGONG, Dec 21: A private car stolen from Chittagong had been recovered from Daudkandi area on the Chittagong-Dhaka Highway on Tuesday night. Daudkandi toll box police seized the car and arrested two persons from the area. They are Nasiruddin Mamun (28) and Imran Hossain (21). Pahartali police in Chittagong city said the highway police have handed over the car to them on Wednesday morning. Police said the owner of the Toyota Arian car Ismat Ullah Sajjad, a businessman from Baluar Dighi area in the city, had filed a case Tuesday morning as a gang of four carjackers took away the car from Jelepara area under Pahartali threatening them to stab to death as the owner had gone there on a business purpose at around 9.30 am. Sub-inspector Faruk Ahmed of Pahartali police station said the arrested persons confessed to their involvement in the carjacking and said they were contacted by the snatchers to take the car to Dhaka. The police said they are investigating the matter and have deployed forces to arrest other carjackers.
