Car trader killed, house robbed

An unidentified gang of robbers killed a car trader after looting his house at Shantibagh in the city early Monday.
The killing brought the number of murders in the capital to 11 in the first eight days of June.
Police quoting family members of the victim said the armed gang stormed into the house of Kamal Uddin Bhuiyan, 40, owner of XXX car showroom at Paltan, and forcibly took the key of an almirah from the victim's wife, Rubi, at gunpoint at about 3am.
They looted valuables worth about Tk 100,000 from the house at 240, Shantibagh, after holding the family members hostage
Later the robbers tied Kamal's hands and took him to the rooftop of the five-storey building, where they strangulated him before fleeing from the scene.
The victim's sister-in-law Shammi told reporters that the family members found the body of Kamal on the roof at dawn and informed police.
Kamal is the third businessmen to be killed in the capital this month.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the murder.
