Cargo vessel sinks in Bay

A cargo vessel capsised in the Bay of Bengal near Sandwip Channel in Chittagong on Saturday afternoon. The Sandwip-bound cargo vessel from Kumiraghat of Sitakundu upazila sank in the Bay with 20/25 crewmen around 2:00pm due to inclement weather, said Ekhtekhar Hasan, officer-in-charge of Sitakundu Police Station. Casualties from the incident could not be known immediately, added the OC. However, local people salvaged the sunken vessel, according to UNB.
