Carjacker lynched at Pallabi in city

A carjacker was lynched and another one seriously injured when they tried to snatch away a private car at Pallabi in the city Monday night, police said.
An officer of Pallabi police station told the FE that three carjackers intercepted a private car at Pallabi residential area and tried to push out its driver at gunpoint at about 9:00pm.
When the driver raised his voice for help, the gang shot at him, leaving him injured. Locals rushed to the spot responding to the driver's screaming and caught two of the gang -- Abdul Halim (25) and Muktar Hossain (23). But they failed to hold other accomplice of the detained criminals as he managed to escape from the spot.
Both the car lifters were given a heavy beating by the mob, leaving them seriously injured. Critically injured Abdul and Muktar were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where Abdul succumbed to his injuries at about 12:45am.
