Carpenter dies in city road accident

A carpenter has died as a vehicle ran over him at Gabtoli under Darus Salam Police Station in the city, hospital sources said. Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police outpost in-charge, quoting family members and locals, identified the victim as Mohammad Yusuf Ali, 26. Family members, quoting witnesses and the driver of a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw that carried the victim to the DMCH, said he was crossing the main road at Gabtoli in the morning. Suddenly, a bus rammed into him around 4:45am,’ the driver of the CNG-run auto-rickshaw, who carried him to the hospital said. ‘Doctors declared him dead at about 6:00 am,’ the auto-rickshaw driver added, according to a news agency.
