Carton factory catches fire in city

A fire broke out at a carton manufacturing company on Indira Road in the city on Sunday.
According to fire service control room, the fire originated at Razzak Packaging Factory around 12:34 pm.
On information, six firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire at about 2:40 pm, on-duty officer of fire service control room Nazma Akhter told the FE.
Residents of the area were evacuated, she said, adding that no casualties were reported in the fire. The extent of losses caused by the fire could not be ascertained till filing of this report.
An investigation committee was formed to probe the fire incident, the official said.
The fire created panic among local residents as the factory is located in the midst of the residential area.
