Case filed against Hasan Mahmud, Nowfel

A case has been filed against former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud and former education minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury Nowfel over the shooting of an autorickshaw driver in Chattogram on Aug 5, the day the government fell, reports bdnews24.com.
Injured autorickshaw driver Anwar Hossain filed the case on Sunday night, according to Fazlul Kader Patwary, chief of Double Mooring Police Station.
"The case mentions the names of 130 individuals, including two former ministers. In addition, 200 to 300 other unidentified people have also been accused," Fazlul added.
Others accused in the case include former Chattogram-10 MP Mohiuddin Bachchu, Awami League General Secretary AJM Nasir Uddin, former city mayor M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, Jubo League leader Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar, former Chattogram City Corporation councillor Abdus Sabur Liton, and Nazmul Hoque Duke.
According to the case dossier, Anwar Hossain had joined a procession of the general public celebrating the fall of the government in front of the police lines in Monsurabad on Aug 5.
"As the procession proceeded to the Dewanhat area, it was fired upon using illegal weapons under the orders of the accused," the complaint states. "Anwar was shot in the right arm. He later received treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital."
