Case filed against RAB men in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Mar 13: Local commander and some other members of the rapid action battalion in Chittagong (RAB-7) have been accused in a robbery case filed in connection with a raid at a Darbar Sharif (shrine) in Anwara of the district.
Twelve members of the RAB-7 including its former commander Lt Col Zulfiquar Ali Majumder have been named in the case while 10-15 others remained un-named. Majumder is no. 1 accused in the case.
Mohammed Idris, a driver of the Peer of Talsara Darbar Sharif of Anwara had filed the case with the Anwara police station today, said officer-in-charge Md Shahjahan.
In the case description he said the RAB members entered the Darbar Sharif in November 2011 and looted over Tk 20 million in cash and kind in the name of raid inside the shrine.
Sources said the accused persons have been withdrawn and sent back to their respective departments.
