Case filed against SI for taking bribe

COMILLA, Nov 8 (UNB): A case was filed against a Sub-Inspector (SI) of police and his associate Tuesday on charge of taking Tk 20,000 as bribe from a businessman.
Sultan Ahmed, owner of Ruma Furniture Mart of Chandla Uttar Sarak under Brahmanpara Upazila, filed the case against second officer of Brahmanpara thana SI Sharif and his associate Shahid Member with the Additional Judicial Magistrate Court.
In his complaint, Sultan Ahmed said that SI Sharif and Shahid Member went to his house and tied up his younger brother Kabir on November 3.
Magistrate Maidul Islam asked Brahmanpara thana officer in-charge (OC) to lodge it as a regular case.
